Communication Channels
While we encourage every form of social media and channels for communication, we will have three main channels spanning the event. Individual modules may introduce to more.
The three main channels are Flickr, Discord and Google Hangouts. We will be using the Flickr for asynchronous discussions and memes. Discord is our synchronous and asynchronous 24/7 meeting place. Google Hangouts are where we will have our weekly Wednesday meetings at 8 pm ET/6 pm MT.
The hashtag for this workshop over is #rapidresponsedu

Brainstorming and Sharing Ideas
Our Flickr Group
As an exercise, post an image in our Flickr Rapid Response Group. Look at the top of the page where that picture is. Copy the url of that page and create a discussion post. Our topics are on current events. These topics are controversial and likely to have opposing views. This is a safe space to discuss. Use this this group to test out the voice and tone of your discussion question. Ask group members what they think. Also if there is something specific that you want feedback on, go ahead and ask. That's the purpose of this community. If you'd like to read more on memes and their influence, here is an article from the Columbia Journalism Review.
This is a short video about how to use Flickr for discussions if you haven't used Flickr discussions before.
